The complete verses and interpretations of Ayat Kursi as explained below,
"Allah, there is no worship (who has the right to be worshiped) other than He Who lives eternally and continues to take care of (beings)."
Allah is the greatest name of Allah ta'ala. Allah begins this verse by emphasizing the tauhid sentence which is the essence of the teachings of Islam and all previous Shari'a. Its meaning, there is no true worship to be worshiped besides Allah. Consequently, it is not permissible to give any worship to other than Allah.
Al-Hayyu and al-Qayyum are two of al-Asma 'al-Husna which Allah has. Al-Hayyu means the One who lives by itself and forever. Al-Qayyum means that all need Him and all cannot stand without Him. Therefore, Syaikh Abdurrahman as-Sa'di said that these two names show all the other al-Asma ’al-Husna.
Some scholars argue that al-Hayyul Qayyum is the greatest name. This opinion and the previous one are the strongest in the matter of whether the name of Allah is the greatest, and all of these names are in the verse seat.
"He is not sleepy and does not sleep."
Blessed be God of all shortcomings. He always watched and watched everything. There is nothing hidden from him, and He is not negligent of His servants.
God gives priority to the mention of sleepiness, because sleepiness usually occurs before going to sleep.
Maybe someone said, "Just denying sleepiness is enough so you don't need to mention sleeplessness; because if you just don't sleep, let alone sleep. "
However, God calls both of them, because it could be (1) people sleep without drowsiness first, and (2) people can resist sleepiness, but cannot help sleeping. So, denying sleepiness does not mean automatically denying sleep.
"What belongs to him in the heavens and on earth."
This universe is a servant and belongs to God, and under His authority. No one can carry out a will except by the will of God.
"No one can give intercession with Allah without His permission."
Interceding means to be an intermediary for others in bringing benefits or preventing danger. The essence of intercession with Allah is prayer. People who expect the intercession of the Prophet sallallaahu ‘alahi wa sallam means expecting that the Prophet sallallaahu‘ alahi wa sallam prayed for him by Allah. There are special intercessions for the Prophet Muhammad, such as intercession for the beginning of reckoning in the hereafter, and intercession for the inhabitants of heaven so that the gates of heaven are opened for them. There are some that are not specific to the Prophet sallallaahu ‘alahi wa sallam, such as intercession for those who have the right to go to hell not to be included in it, and intercession to be elevated to a higher degree in heaven.
So, a Muslim can give intercession to parents, children, relatives or friends in the hereafter. However, intercession is only given to those who believe and die in a state of faith. Two things are needed to get it, namely:
1. God's permission for people who give intercession.
2. Rida Allah for those who are given intercession.
Therefore, one cannot ask intercession except to Allah. Apart from praying, we should realize the conditions for getting intercession; by gaining the pleasure of Allah. Obviously by obeying Him to carry out His commandments as much as we can, and leave all His prohibitions.
"He knows what is before them and behind them."
This is the proposition that the knowledge of God encompasses all beings, both those in the past, present and future. God knows what has been, is, and what will happen, even the thing that is destined does not exist, how it will look if there is. The knowledge of God is perfect.
"And they know nothing of the knowledge of Allah except with what He wants."
No one knows the knowledge of God, except what Allah teaches. Likewise the knowledge of the essence and attributes of God. We have no way of setting a name or character, except that He wants it to be specified in the Koran and al-Hadith.
"God's chair covers heaven and earth."
Ibn Abbas radhiallahu ‘anhu interprets the chair by saying:
الكُرْسيُّ مَوْضِعُ قَدَمَيْهِ
"The chair is the place of the two feet of Allah." (Narrated by al-Hakim no. 3116, legalized by saheeh by al-Hakim and adz-Dhahabi)
Ahlussunnah set these characteristics as determined by Allah and the Prophet sallallaahu ‘alahi wa sallam, according to the humility and glory of God without calling
